Hard day
at the office more
to come
driving through the dark
and switching worlds
an die Musik
A contrapuntal dance
of spheres in the night
sky or lieder/leid
to take sweetness to the heart
of the art
A hallelujah hefting
the weight onto a shared
shoulder maybe a quiet
ebb and flow of just
as many notes as are needed
Music, music
But down go the double
basses da
da da da…
and up floods the light
all
twenty thousand watts
Switching on it’s always
somehow
in the hope that it’ll be
a bit
of Beethoven
